Scene 2

Int. Coffee Shop

We see Erin and Jam finishing a store bought pre packaged package of sushi. They both look like they are deep in thought. They are both using chopsticks. Erin is seated to the right. Jam is to the left. They are at a table furthest from the door (closest to the camera) and behind them the entire coffee shop is visible. As Erin and Jam eat in silence, we see Tia enter the coffee shop and take a seat at a table closest to the door. Two seconds later, Tia gets up and moves to a table closer to Erin and Jam. Two seconds later Tia gets up and moves to yet another table closer to Erin and Jam. She is unnoticed by the two. Shortly, after the last move by Tia, Erin eats the last piece of sushi. Erin and Jam toss their chopsticks onto the empty container and push the container to the edge of the table. Tia immediately jumps up and grabs the empty tray and takes it to the trash can.

ERIN
(without looking up) Thank you

JAM
You know that’s Tia, right?

ERIN
Shut up!

Erin turns around and makes eye contact with Tia who waves. Tia then grabs a chair from another table and joins Erin and Jam

TIA
Hi guys!

ERIN and JAM
Hi. Tia

TIA
So…what are we doing?

JAM
We (motioning to Erin and himself) are trying to figure out our living situation.

TIA
I thought we were moving into a new place this weekend.

ERIN
We (motioning to Jam and herself) were. But no Kleen Sweep, no apartment. (to Jam) I was really looking forward to moving.

JAM
You. I am so ready to leave home.

TIA
O-M-G! You guys could move into my place.

ERIN
You. Living at home makes me fat.

TIA
I have two empty rooms.

JAM
You. I swear my mom makes cereal with Crisco

TIA
It’s a three beddie with two and a half baths.

ERIN
Your mom does fry everything.

TIA
It’s on the tenth floor with an amazing view of the city.

JAM
Well, at least my mom doesn’t buy generic sodas.

TIA
New kitchen. Hardwood floors.

ERIN
Hey! I love Diet Dr. Thunder.

TIA
Walk-in closets.

ERIN and JAM
Shut up!

TIA
Okay.

ERIN
No. I mean, walk-in closets. Shut. Up.

TIA
Yeah.

JAM
In every room?

TIA
Yeah.

Erin, Jam and Tia sit in silence for a couple of beats.

ERIN
We (motioning to Jam) need to talk.

JAM
For sure.

ERIN
(to Tia) Alone.

Erin motions with her hand for Tia to leave the table.

TIA
Okay.

Tia gets up and walks to the far table by the front door. We can see her between Erin and Jam. She sits and rocks back and forth with her fingers crossed on both hands.

ERIN
I don’t appreciate you bringing up my mother.

JAM
She does buy hella generic soda.

ERIN
I know she does. But you know I hate her. Why would you even bring her up?

JAM
I know. I’m sorry

ERIN
It’s okay. And I’m sorry I said your mom fries everything.

JAM
She does fry everything.

ERIN
Does she do Twinkies?

JAM
I wish. I love Twinkies.

ERIN
You. Me.

JAM
Let’s go get some.

ERIN
Let’s.

Erin and Jam get up and head for the exit. As they get halfway to the door, they notice Tia. They stop and turn towards each other.

ERIN
Walk-in closets.

JAM
Duh.

Erin and Jam proceed to the exit. As they pass Tia they stop.

ERIN
We’re in.

TIA
Yay!

Erin and Jam exit. Tia remains in the coffee shop clapping.

SCENE 3

Ext. Front of coffee shop

JAM
Why does Tia have two empty rooms?

ERIN
Who cares?

JAM
It’s kind of weird though, right?

ERIN
Walk-in closets, Jam. Walk-in closets.

ERIN walks away. JAM shrugs and follows.
