Artist Spotlight: Sketch Comedy Greetings, good people! Seth K. Thomas here, and this was going to be my artist spotlight, but I decided to pivot because you know me already. I want to put the spotlight on sketch comedy, the backbone of the comedy world. It's time to give sketch comedy its flowers. Sketch comedy (brief, humorous scenes or vignettes, often character-driven, that highlight absurd, satirical, or exaggerated situations) has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up on reruns of The Benny Hill Show , Hee Haw , and Laugh-In . Shows like The Carol Burnett Show , In Living Color , and, of course, Saturday Night Live inspired me to get into acting and comedy. Unlike standup comedy, which is a comedian, a microphone, and their truth, sketch comedy has its roots in live theater.
