About Pure & Weary
Katherine Biskupic and Leah Frires make up Pure & Weary, a comedy team based in Los Angeles via Chicago, their first love (cue Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U”).
Pure & Weary have headlined and performed at comedy festivals all over the country, from New York to Seattle and all the places with lower gas prices in between. They've been named Top 10 Finalists for Final Draft’s Big Break Competition, semifinalists for the Second City Original Sitcom Contest and "Best Sketch Group" at the Joshua Tree International Comedy Festival. Their comedy videos have been featured on Vulture, Funny or Die, UPROXX, USA Today, WhoHaHa and the iO Comedy Network. They love hosting and performing in shows all over Los Angeles and also produce videos for a range of clients (more on that here).
Their first names mean Pure & Weary.
About Seth K Thomas
Seth K. Thomas is a seasoned sketch comedy writer and performer with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Trained at The Second City in Chicago, Seth brings a sharp, satirical, and authentic comedic voice to his work. Known for his motto, "Ha-Ha over Ra-Ra," Seth’s focus is on creating pure, unadulterated laughter rather than moral lessons.
He won Best Sketch Group at the 2005 HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen with The Defiant Thomas Brothers, and recently earned the Producers' Pick at the 2024 Toronto Sketchfest. Though Seth has explored rap music, improv, theater, and stand-up, sketch comedy is where his heart truly lies.
Performing primarily in live theater and festivals, Seth's comedy explores the absurdities of life through strong, memorable characters. Offstage, he shares his exploration of English word pronunciations on TikTok.
Currently, Seth is working on a new sketch comedy revue and his second book as an American humorist. Above all, his aim is simple: to leave his audience with one thing—joy.
